Candela Heltid Sollentuna

Senior Manufacturing Engineer - Mechanical Assembly

Om denna position

Want to shape the future of waterborne transport and join a world-class team?

Candela is the global leader in electric hydrofoil vessels. Since 2014, we’ve gone from building our first premium electric speedboat in a small Stockholm workshop to delivering game-changing vessels around the globe. The Candela P-12 is our latest innovation - the world’s first electric hydrofoil ferry is not just operating in Stockholm, but now attracting orders from around the world.
Our boats “fly” thanks to computer-guided underwater wings under the hull made out of lightweight carbon fiber. The wings lift the vessel above the water, which results in cutting energy use by up to 80%, while offering zero emissions and a far better passenger experience than traditional diesel vessels.

And that’s exactly why we do this. Our mission is clear: to speed up the transition to fossil fuel–free lakes and oceans.

We are now looking for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to support Candela’s growth ambitions. In this role, you will be working with streamlining the manufacturing of Candela vessels. In close collaboration with Quality, R&D, logistics and production specialists, you will define, build, and continuously develop the flows, processes, and methods used for manufacturing of our vessels (with focus on mech sub-assemblies and assemblies).

Your core responsibilities:

  • Being the main technical responsible for defining and optimizing manufacturing processes within the field of mechanical assemblies and pre-assemblies.
  • Developing manufacturing processes and flows for efficient high-quality production.
  • Consulting (among others) Quality, R&D and Strategic sourcing on design for manufacturing topics i.e. optimizing designs for quick and easy manufacturing.
  • Improvement of Mechanical Engineering and Design For Manufacturing reviews (e.g. designing and sourcing of tools, jigs, fixtures etc.).
  • Creating MBOMs, equipment requirements, PFMEAs and assembly instructions etc.
  • Leading non-conformity/deviation handling together with production and R&D.
  • Coordinating prototyping/test-assemblies, understand and make well-reasoned decisions and trade-offs within the area of expertise.

To be successful in the role:

You are a hands-on, experienced professional with a strong background in assembly processes and a keen eye for identifying potential improvements. You communicate effectively with diverse audiences, using clear structure and visuals when needed, and you’re equally skilled at capturing and organizing key information in writing for impactful presentations. You excel at analyzing complex technical problems and working collaboratively to solve them, ultimately creating simple, easy-to-follow assembly instructions.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a relevant field e.g. Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering
  • 10 years of experience of working within Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering or similar fields
  • Ability to communicate fluently in English
  • Proven experience in creating, developing, and optimizing manufacturing processes
  • Exceptional technical and analytical skills in Mechanical Engineering, Design for Manufacturing topics
  • Experience with leading continuous improvement efforts and complex projects
  • You feel comfortable using common CAD-tools, preferably CATIA/3DEXPERIENCE
