Scania's R&D department is transforming to become part of TRATON Group R&D. TRATON is a group of strong brands with a shared mission: transforming transportation together to create the future of sustainable transport solutions. Within TRATON, we include MAN, Scania, Volkswagen Truck & Bus, and International. As part of a global team of industry experts, you get to think bigger, experience more, and reach further. Together, we have the power to transform transportation.
Our values – customer first, respect, team spirit, responsibility, and elimination of waste – are at the heart of everything we do.
You will join the EE Application Area, an area that plays a central role in shaping the future of software-defined vehicles and autonomous solutions for the TRATON Group. Within the VCF Autonomous Systems, we bring together a wide range of competencies to create end-to-end solutions for our customers. We provide autonomous vehicles for confined and on-road use cases, including Mission Control and Operations. We deliver safe and sustainable solutions to ensure superior customer value through seamless integration and maximum efficiency.
The team works in a dynamic and cross-functional environment, driven by innovation and guided by clear priorities that reflect both business value and technical strategy. You will be part of a collaborative leadership constellation where curiosity, transparency, and inclusion are encouraged.
As a Solution Train Engineer (STE), you are the servant leader and facilitator of the Value Creation Flow (VCF). You orchestrate collaboration across multiple Value Creation Teams (VCTs), suppliers, and stakeholders—both inside and outside TRATON R&D—to ensure efficient, predictable, and value-driven delivery of complex solutions. As part of the VCF Triad, you play a key role in enabling flow, demonstrating true leadership, and aligning delivery with strategic business and technical goals.
• Coordinate the VCF’s large solution delivery across VCTs and within adjacent VCFs in TRATON R&D lean agile landscape and secure synchronisation
• Conduct solution backlog preparation and PI inflight in close collaboration with the Solution Manager
• Plan, conduct, and facilitate PI(Product Increment) Plannings and other key VCF events
• Plan and track the work and capacity in the VCF together with the Release Train Engineers
• Identify and remove impediments, manage risks and dependencies within the VCF and connected initiatives and projects
• Track and monitor flow status and KPIs (e.g., PI predictability, feature throughput, quality, capacity, delivery).
• Act as a Lean-Agile leader and coach for the RTE community and other stakeholders.
• Foster a shared understanding, team spirit, and collaboration across diverse cultures, sites and organisational setups.
• Align with all TRATON brands to ensure their requirements, timelines, and priorities fit the overall strategy (e.g., TRATON Modular System).
You work in close partnership with:
• Solution Manager – Owns the strategic roadmap, backlog, and business prioritisation.
• Solution Architect – Defines the technical vision and architectural direction.
