Role Summary

Electrification battery test team searches motivated engineers looking for new challenges!

The electrification field is currently undergoing significant development as demand for climate-conscious transport solutions increases. Scania is expanding its battery testing capacity in areas such as performance, safety, and abuse to address growing customer needs. The team is seeking engineers with experience in battery testing or battery development.

 

Job Responsibilities

This position focuses on supporting the single cell testing area.
Tasks include deploying comprehensive test matrices to examine how different parameters influence ageing, performing experiments that analyze electrochemical behavior, and assessing battery system performance.
The role also involves working within safety and abuse testing as this area grows. Duties can be varied, including outdoor site work, frequency spectrum analysis, and monitoring long-term degradation in life cycle tests.

 

Who You Are

Ideal candidates will have knowledge of lithium-ion batteries and preference for experimental work. Participation throughout the test process—from planning to reporting—is required. Candidates should be comfortable analyzing data, sharing results, and discussing findings with colleagues.

Team members come from diverse backgrounds, including chemistry (especially electrochemistry), laboratory experience, engineering, data processing, and practical hands-on skills. The ability to summarize results clearly and communicate them effectively is important.

Preferred qualifications include:

· Experience with rig automation systems, such as LabView Puma or similar

· Experience in metrology (the science of measurement)

· Knowledge of Swedish or German

The Battery Cell Testing Unit is responsible for evaluating batteries ranging from single cells up to sub-pack assemblies. The unit manages the entire test process, conducting various tests both internally and in collaboration with regional and international partners. Responsibilities include planning, executing, and analyzing test results.
